### Q. Who can open an account online?
**A.** Online account opening is available to all existing individual customers who have any accounts (such as Financing, Credit Cards, Savings, Current & Investment Accounts) with Bank Islam.
### Q. How do I open an account online?
**A.** Customers can access our website at www.bankislam.com and look for "Account Opening" or go directly to https://vao.bankislam.com.my/openaccount to select the account to be opened.
### Q. If I am a new customer to Bank Islam, can I open an account online?
**A.** At this moment, only existing customers of Bank Islam can open an account online. We are currently upgrading our system to allow new customers to open accounts online soon.
### Q. What are the accounts that I can open online?
**A.** The following accounts can be opened online:
- Qard Savings Account-i
- Basic Savings Account-i
- Qard Current Account-i
- Basic Current Account-i
- Al-Awfar Account
- iGAIN Account
- Investment Account
### Q. Can I open an account online at any time?
**A.** You can open an account online daily between 6:01 AM and 11:30 PM (Malaysian time).

## Documents and Post-Opening Actions
### Q. Do I need to upload any documents to open an account?
**A.** No document is required for existing customers.
### Q. What do I need to do after I open my account online?
**A.** You need to log in to our Internet Banking to view your account. If you are not yet an Internet Banking customer, please register to use this service. Don’t forget to deposit money into your account by performing a fund transfer to your newly opened account.

## Initial Deposit Transfer
### Q. How can I transfer the initial deposit/placement?
**A.** You can perform an own account transfer or DuitNow transfer from other banks. You may also use a Cash Deposit Machine to deposit cash into your new account.
### Q. What happens if I fail to transfer the initial deposit within 30 days?
**A.** Your account will be automatically closed if there is no deposit made within 30 days from the date the account is successfully opened online.
### Q. Can a third party (e.g., my parents) transfer the initial deposit to my new account?
**A.** Yes. We accept any incoming fund transfer from any source, including third party transfers, DuitNow, or any other form of transfer.
### Q. Can I transfer an amount less than the initial deposit?
**A.** No. You cannot proceed if your transfer amount is less than the required initial deposit.

## Account Activation and Verification
### Q. How do I know whether my account is successfully opened online?
**A.** During the process, an acknowledgment page will appear online to notify you that the account has been successfully opened. You may also view the account number in the Account Summary dashboard once you log in to Internet Banking or GO by Bank Islam.
### Q. Is my newly opened account automatically activated right after the successful application?
**A.** Yes, it is. You just need to deposit the initial deposit amount within 30 days, and thereafter, you can start using the account.
### Q. Do I need to register my phone number to open an account online?
**A.** Yes. A registered phone number with Bank Islam is required to receive a verification code via SMS. You need to enter this code to complete the application as a security measure. If your phone number differs from our records, you must visit the nearest Bank Islam branch to update your phone number.

## Debit Card and Cheque Book
### Q. Will I be given a new debit card for my new account?
**A.** No. Your new account will be linked to your existing debit card. If you have more than one debit card, the account will be linked to the latest issued debit card with active status. To request a new debit card or to unlink the account, please visit the nearest branch.
### Q. Am I allowed to issue any cheque if I open a current account online?
**A.** Yes. You may visit your preferred Bank Islam branch to request a cheque book, which is available upon request.

## Other Questions
### Q. I have filled in the form but did not submit the application. Can I resume my application later?
**A.** Sorry, we do not save any pending forms, so you will not be able to resume later. You need to start from the beginning.
### Q. My full name and/or permanent address displayed on the application screen is not updated. How can I update the information?
**A.** You may visit the nearest branch to update your latest personal information.
